Oreo, I love Oreo, especially Oreo truffles its one of those treat I always make at Christmas time. Meijer used to make candy cane Oreo, but I could not find them this year. I was kind of bummed out, because I use them every year to make truffles with. But leave it to my husband to come up with the awesome idea to put crushed up candy canes in with regular Oreo, and there you have it Candy cane truffles!

Ingredients: Oreo cookies, cream cheese, candy cane, vanilla candy coating, or white chocolate. I am not a fan of white chocolate, but I love candiQuik vanilla flavor by Meijer. You know with all this Meijer product advertisement you would think my future sister in-law would sponsor me (Hint, Hint)

Ok back to making the truffles, crush the whole package of Oreo cookies in a food processor until it is crumb form. Also crush 8-10 candy canes, set aside 1-2 tablespoons, for decorations.

Mix together the Oreo crumbs, crushed candy canes and one block of softened cream cheese. Once mixed roll into 1 inch balls and place onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.

Freeze the truffle balls for at least an hour or until hard. Once frozen melt your chopped chocolate in a double boiler. Dip the truffles into the melted chocolate and tap off the access, and place back onto the wax paper to set. While the chocolate is still warm sprinkle a pinch of crushed candy cane on top. Place into the freeze for the chocolate to harden.

With the left over chocolate and crushed candy canes, you can make candy cane bark. Mix the chocolate and candy cane together, spend onto wax paper and stick in the freezer to harden.

I always leave the truffles in the refrigerator, you can also freeze them if you want to make them a head of time.

Here are regular truffles with milk chocolate.
